Groove3 Mastering with Native Instruments Explained TUTORIAL

Studio wiz Larry Holcombe presents comprehensive video tutorials on mastering with Native Instruments! If you’ve wondered whether or not you can create pro-sounding masters with your Native Instruments plug-ins, such as the Solid Bus Compressor, Supercharger GT, and others, check out this course! Larry walks you through several different mastering strategies, demonstrating how specific tools are used to achieve the desired outcome, as well as mastering three different songs (in different genres) from scratch! These videos are for those new to mastering.

Larry welcomes you and then jumps right in, demonstrating how Passive EQ can be used to filter and improve the tonal balance of a track. Then you’ll learn how the same Passive EQ can address tracks with mid/side balance issues. Also learn how to add saturation with Supercharger GT, in conjunction with EQ, in order to hype certain frequencies.

Next, explore how to use Solid Bus Compressor, an SSL-style bus compressor, to enhance the groove and add front/back perspective. Larry follows this with a demonstration of how peak limiting and density compression can effectively tame unruly transients and/or thicken tracks efficiently.

Throughout the rest of the course, you’ll learn many more useful techniques, including adding depth with Vari Comp, parallel compression for extra excitement and tonal balance, creating space with RC24 and RC48, and more! Finish off the course by observing Larry master three songs from scratch using everything you’ve learned: a pop track, a country rock track, and an electronic track.
